Several individual Magaddinos became involved in Castellammarese Mafia networks, but the blood family was not itself a crime family, gang or criminal corporation.

The documented nineteenth-century line begins with '''Pietro Magaddino''' (approximately 1823–1880) and '''Arcangela or Angela Ancona''' (born approximately 1830). Their children included Carmela and Giovanni Magaddino.

Carmela Magaddino married Martino Bonventre on July 14, 1876.
