==RICO prosecutions and decline== A later federal prosecution produced racketeering convictions against Donald Paone, Anthony Colombo, Joseph Rossi, Thomas Marotta, Richard Marino, Rene Piccarreto and Samuel Russotti. The Second Circuit recorded testimony from former members about the enterprise's hierarchy, criminal conduct and control over gambling permissions in the Rochester area.<ref name="Paone">[https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/F2/782/386/299574/ ''United States v. Paone'', 782 F.2d 386] (2d Cir. 1986).</ref> The case documented an organized Rochester enterprise and particular convictions. It also demonstrated the damage caused by cooperating witnesses and sustained federal prosecution. Additional prosecutions and internal violence fragmented the organization by the late 1980s. The available evidence supports describing the family as defunct or severely dismantled by that period. It does not support an unbroken current leadership list.
