==[[South 9 Bikers]]==
The '''South 9 Bikers''', also called the '''South 9th Bikers''', were a Williamsburg street gang and neighborhood club. An oral-history feature places their territory around Broadway, from near Havemeyer Street toward the area where the Hasidic community began.<ref name="VICE">[https://www.vice.com/en/article/fashion-v13n10/ “Gangs of Old New York”], ''Vice'', oral-history feature.</ref>

The same account says that the South 9 Bikers looked to the Hells Angels as a model, made chopper-style bicycles and later motorcycles, and maintained a Southside clubhouse.<ref name="VICE" /> These details document a biker style and social setting, not an official affiliation with the Hells Angels.

The South 9 Bikers were reported to have been in conflict with the Dukes and Arabian Knights during a 1980 incident recalled in the oral history. The account contains disputed personal identification and responsibility, so it is not treated as an adjudicated finding against every member.<ref name="VICE" />

A later local account describes Bikers NY as originally known as the South 9th Bikers and as having developed from a street gang into a motorcycle club.<ref name="BikersNY">[https://www.facebook.com/classicnystreetgangs/posts/rare-1980s1990s-photo-bikers-ny-mc-from-south-9th-bikers-to-williamsburg-brookly/1522809766405132/ “Bikers NY M.C.—From South 9th Bikers to Williamsburg Brooklyn Legends”], Classic NY Street Gangs.</ref> This relationship is developed in the separate [[Bikers NY]] article.
